Z-Keeper · first run — 1 of 5

Two things to tell it. That's the whole setup.

Where your movies live, and a free TMDB key so Z-Keeper can look films up for itself.

Your movie folders

The same folders your Zidoo will use as sources.

📁 U:\Ripped movies\blu-ray
📁 U:\Ripped movies\4k blu-ray
📁 U:\TV series

Your TMDB API key

The Movie Database — the same encyclopedia the Zidoo itself uses.

🔑
free — themoviedb.org → Settings → API
Notice what's not needed yet: no Zidoo. Everything in the next two scenes happens before Z-Keeper ever talks to a player.

Settings → add folders · paste key. Done.

Before the first Sync: open Identify

Match against TMDB: every file gets a Master Catalog record the moment it's scanned — even the one TMDB can't name. Five arrive with a proposed match and a confidence score; none is cemented yet.

5 proposed · 1 needs your help · 0 cemented — yet
…five carry a proposed match; cementing them is your job. Next scene.

No Zidoo involved — this works the day before your player arrives.

Your review is what cements — once, forever

The same six files. Approve the high-confidence ones in one click; Change match fixes 1408; Alien gets your poster; the mystery disc file gets a quick search.

Cement rule: anything you decide is the answer — until you change it.

Now the first Sync — and the Master Catalog goes to work

The Zidoo has scanned the same folders and made its own guesses. Sync reads them and checks every one against your cement.

The habit: add new movies → identify the new files (Identify → Still to do → Match against TMDB) → let the Zidoo scan → Sync. The Master Catalog auto-approves everything it recognizes; you only ever look at what's new or wrong.
Match once. It's remembered forever — even through a factory reset.
